TALKS/INTERVIEWS - Available on request

Sick and tired of feeling sick and tired?  Fed up with staff taking sick days?

In need of a boost to your health?  Looking to improve your lifestyle?

Presentations by The Natural Health Society of Australia can help change your life, the life of your friends and colleagues, and your staff.  Inspirational speaker and natural health guru, Roger French, is in demand as a speaker at company events and charitable functions, speaking to audiences of all sizes, and is regularly sought out by media outlets for his expert commentary.

The Natural Health Society’s Health Director, Roger has close to 40 years experience in natural health and his immense knowlege allows him to empower others to live their life with increased vitality, with freedom from illness and pain, at their ideal body shape, and to the fullest at ANY age.

About Roger French

In his twenties, Roger was sick and tired of being tired and sick. This led him to abandon professional civil engineering and take up a career in Natural Health, which has included seven years as resident manager of the Hopewood Health Retreat at Wallacia, NSW, and, since 1983, Health Director of the Natural Health Society of Australia, a not-for-profit organisation.

Altogether he has been involved with Natural Health for 39 years.

Roger’s formal training commenced with a Diploma of Agriculture at the Hawkesbury Agricultural College, which was later followed by a Bachelor of Civil Engineering Degree and Master of Engineering Science Degree. For his current career in health education, Roger gained a Natural Therapies Diploma of Nutrition. Through Roger’s analytical approach to learning and scientific research, The Natural Health Society has been able to develop sound policies on the most important health issues in
Australia today.

Popular Talks

Generally, talks can be tailored to suit the specific needs of audiences, however, some of the most popular topics are outlined below.

‘THE MAN WHO LIVED IN THREE CENTURIES – How he did it’
When a man collapses with a heart attack at 34 years of age and then mends his lifestyle ways to live healthily to 104, there is an encouraging message for every single one of us.

‘The Man’, Eric Storm, a Mosman NSW stockbroker, extended his life by 70 years of high quality, healthy living. His story and other evidence show that we can enjoy a level of wellbeing and longevity that far exceeds our normal expectations in
Australia today. This slide ‘show’ presents the essence of what the Natural Health Society has learned since its foundation in 1960, and will interest any person who wants to avoid heart disease, arthritis, rheumatism, cancer or any other illness.

‘HEART DISEASE AND THE CHOLESTEROL MYTH’
Heart disease and stroke are threats facing every one of us. In general the conventional risk factors for artery disease don’t explain approximately two-thirds of the cases of heart disease. There are even a number of studies showing that the higher the cholesterol, the less heart disease. In spite of these facts, the current emphasis for preventing heart disease (and stroke) is largely on lowering cholesterol, with drugs often being prescribed. Unfortunately, the drugs often have serious side effects. The true causes of atherosclerosis are largely known and are easily explained. This information can be life saving.

‘HOW TO REDUCE THE RISK OF CANCER’
Cancer is a highly preventable disease, states the European Journal of Cancer, October 2001 issue. Not only are most of the causes of cancer known, but the mechanism is gradually coming to be understood. Cancer is not inherited, it’s essentially a lifestyle disease in which our genes have been damaged. Prevention centres on antioxidants (ideally from foods), a balanced intake of unprocessed foods, watching calorie intake and minimising exposure to toxic chemicals. Viewed against the suffering caused by cancer, the relatively small amount of effort required for prevention could be extremely rewarding.

ARTHRITIS AND RHEUMATISM ARE PREVENTABLE AND OFTEN REVERSIBLE
“I only wish that I had heard of Natural Health much earlier, this would have saved me at least 12 months of agony,” said a sufferer of rheumatoid arthritis. Arthritis and rheumatism are almost unknown in countries that don’t consume the typical Western diet, yet they cause an enormous amount of suffering for 1 in 5 Australians. These illnesses are primarily conditions of acidity of the system, largely related to diet. We are told that there is no cure and the cause is unknown, but causes are understood and recovery is often possible as has been demonstrated. Research has tended to confirm this.

Roger is co-editor of the popular Australian magazine, Natural Health and Vegetarian Life, produced quarterly by The Natural Health Society.

He is also the author of the motivational book,  The Man Who Lived in Three Centuries – The Secrets to His Freedom from Illness and Early Ageing.  Based on the life of the Natural Health Society’s founder, Eric Storm, the book condenses under one cover the wisdom of the Natural Health Society’s 46 years of experience with the prevention of illness and early ageing.

Comments on The Man Who Lived In Three Centuries:
"Knowledge about nutrition and maintenance of the immune system is probably more important that drug therapy and surgery combined (apart from trauma repair).  Eric Storm’s astonishing example - replicated by many followers of Natural Health principles - is testimony to the immense value of such knowledge. Many in the medical profession are now taking notice - and not a moment too soon."  Brian Wishire, Radio 2GB Sydney.
Roger keeps fit and well. He was a foundation runner in the City-to-Surf in 1971, and has run in every race but four, 33 races altogether.
He is an enthusiastic bushwalker, having been a member of the Springwood Bushwalkers’ Club for fourteen years, and is also a member of Rotary.
