A gentle, naturally sweet treat that supports digestion and satisfies sweet cravings. The warming spices and crunchy nuts turn this into a delicious winter dessert or breakfast topper.

Ingredients:
2 apples, peeled and chopped
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground ginger
1/2 cup water
1 tsp maple syrup or honey (optional)
2 Tbsp chopped walnuts or almonds

 

Instructions:
1. In a saucepan, combine apples, spices and water. Simmer over low heat for 10 – 15 minutes until soft.
2. Stir in maple syrup if using.
3. Serve warm with a sprinkle of nuts.
