Stewed Pears with Cinnamon and Walnut Crumble
A naturally sweet, fibre-rich option that supports balanced blood sugar and provides brain-supportive fats.
Ingredients (Serves 2)
• 2 pears
• ½ cup water (125 ml)
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• ½ tsp vanilla (optional)
Walnut topping:
• ¼ cup walnuts, roughly chopped (30 g)
• 1 Tbsp pumpkin or sunflower seeds (10 g)
• 1 tsp coconut oil or butter (optional, 5 g)
Method
1. Add pears, water and cinnamon to a saucepan.
2. Cook over medium heat for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pears are soft.
3. Stir through vanilla if using.
4. Spoon into bowls and top with walnuts and seeds before serving.
