Frequently Asked Questions

What services do you provide?

The Natural Health Society offers lifestyle guidance for following the keys to good health and wellbeing. We are here to help you avoid setting yourself up for suffering ill health later in life.

What is Natural Health?
It is a lifestyle for maintaining or regaining good health in accordance with the way nature intended – through appropriate lifestyle and/or lifestyle modifications. Many years ago, medical scientists concluded that virtually all the health problems in Australia are ‘diseases of civilisation’, which means diseases of lifestyle. When Natural Health guidelines were established in 1960, they were based on the most significant research from the previous century. Through the experience of thousands of people using purely lifestyle methods as well as keeping up to date with relevant research, these guidelines have been fine-tuned for the 21st Century.

Some people are often sick. Why is this?

The typical modern lifestyle can lower the body’s ability to resist disease and can also cause degeneration. Detoxing the body of waste products and toxic man-made chemicals can allow the body to self-heal and restore vibrant health and vitality.

If I pay more attention to my health, can I prevent myself from getting sick?

Yes, depending on your previous health history and how conscientious you are. Many degenerative diseases can be prevented and many may be largely reversed over time through practising a Natural Health lifestyle.

Can my doctor keep me healthy?

Many medical practitioners prescribe drugs which merely alleviate symptoms without removing the underlying causes of illness. With correct nutrition and a healthy lifestyle, our bodies have tremendous self-healing powers, which puts us in control.

What topics do you cover in your magazine?

We cover all the main aspects of a healthy lifestyle. We present new creditable information as it comes to light, checking that the evidence for it is sound. We progressively cover a vast range of different health conditions, presenting a description of them, the lifestyle causes, the medical treatments and the lifestyle and natural therapy remedial methods to deal with the underlying causes. We also present case stories of people who have had wonderful recoveries.

Where do you get the information from for your magazine?

We use sources we know are reliable and well founded. From our very thorough understanding of the principles and practices of natural health, we assess the information and ensure that it is consistent with these principles and practices. Our fundamental premise is that all that we publish is without vested interest and is as accurate as is humanly possible.

There is a lot of health information being put out by the media, especially about nutrition, and it is often confusing. Why can we rely on your guidance?

Many self-appointed experts out there are giving advice without understanding how our bodies (and minds) are designed to be nourished. Because Natural Health guidelines are based on research over the last one-and-a-half centuries, they are based on the early research which sets the foundation for healthy eating plus the later research which fine-tunes and confirms these guidelines.
